Lecturer and Research Assistant

January 2021 — Present

Lecturer and Research Assistant at the Center for Digital Technologies (DIGIT), affiliated with the Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) and the Secure Software Engineering research group at Clausthal University of Technology. My work focuses on AI‑driven solutions for secure software engineering, with an emphasis on trustworthy and privacy‑preserving machine learning.

Research Focus:

  • Trustworthy AI and privacy-preserving AI
  • Machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) for software engineering
  • Security bug report prediction and empirical software security
  • Secret detection and management in software repositories
  • Evaluation of large language models (LLMs) for software security tasks
  • Supervised by Prof Dr. Mohammad Ghafari.

Teaching & Academic Activities:

  • Secure Coding (Winter term): obfuscation, reverse engineering, malware analysis
  • Secure IT Systems (Summer term): AI security, adversarial ML, data poisoning attack
  • Supervision of M.Sc. and B.Sc. theses (≈7 students) in applied ML/DL/LLMs for security, secret detection, and adversarial ML
  • Student volunteer at FSE 2025 (Trondheim, Norway)

M.Sc. in Computer Science

September 2018 – December 2020

Research Focus:

Research focused on Sparse Network Coding: Embedding Feedback Mechanisms in Analytical Models: In 2017, I was accepted as a master’s student with an exceptional talents scholarship to pursue my studies at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) under the supervision of Dr. Peyman Pahlevani. During my time there, I developed an innovative Analytical Model for Sparse Network Coding in Feedback-Based Mode, to enhance the security and reliability of sparse network coded channels in wireless sensor networks. This model combines the use of Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) and Network Coding (NC) techniques.

B.Sc. in Information Technology

September 2013 – October 2017

Research Focus:

Research focused on Wireless Sensor Networks: As a B.Sc. student in Information Technology at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS), I conducted my thesis on the Comprehensive Analysis of Wireless Sensor Networks under the supervision of Dr. Peyman Pahlevani. My work examined network architectures, routing protocols, reliability, and performance characteristics of wireless sensor networks, with an emphasis on their applicability to real-world monitoring and communication scenarios.

  • Graduated with a GPA of 17.81 / 20.00.
  • Ranked 1st in cohort among 60+ B.Sc. IT students.
  • Supervised by Dr. Peyman Pahlevani.
  • Thesis: “Comprehensive Analysis of Wireless Sensor Networks”.
  • Awarded the Top Academic Rank (1st Place) in 2016 for outstanding academic performance.
  • Received Exceptional Talents Scholarship for M.Sc. admission at IASBS via competitive interview, bypassing the national entrance exam.
  • Served as a teaching assistant for courses including advanced computer networks, data science, and related topics during my studies at IASBS.
